Building a first-class campus

Pavilion and grandstand

With a shortage of changing facilities at St Paul’s Collegiate School, particularly for sports teams using the rugby fields and hockey turf located at the front of the school, the existing Old Collegians' Pavilion underwent a transformation to cater for students and sports spectators.

The pavilion was raised and refurbished to accommodate changing rooms, toilets and sports equipment storage underneath the building. A tiered sports grandstand, which seats around 300 people, was also included in this project.

The refurbished pavilion officially opened in early 2011 and is now used almost daily by St Paul’s sports teams, local intermediate schools and sports associations such as Waikato Hockey and the Chiefs rugby team. The facility is also used as a function space for school reunions and other events.

Old Collegians, students, staff and supporters can leave their mark on the grandstand by purchasing a bleacher plaque for $1500.
