With a growing demand for skilled workers in the primary industries, the St Paul’s Foundation teamed up with Dairy NZ, Beef + Lamb NZ and ten business partners from within the agriculture sector, to create New Zealand’s first Agribusiness curriculum for secondary school students.
The development of a new programme meant St Paul’s Collegiate School needed a dedicated learning space to house Agribusiness students for lessons, guest speakers and place for students to study.
The Gallagher Agribusiness Centre of Excellence was completed in late-2015. The new learning space is located on-site at St Paul’s and includes multiple classrooms, open learning spaces and state-of-the-art technology that connects students with businesses across the globe.
The new building also acts as a community facility. It is used as a training hub for teachers of other secondary schools and is a function centre / meeting space for the agricultural sector outside of teaching hours.
